IFA heading to US to improve image

The Irish Football Association is spreading its wings to America in an attempt to improve its image and community relations.

Representatives from rugby, the GAA, Sport NI and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure have also signed up to the study trip to Boston and Houston in December.

The trip is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and organised by the Boston College Irish Institute and IFA Head of Community Relations, Michael Boyd, will represent the football body.

Particular emphasis will be placed on community building and fundraising.
