I’ll stay at Derry: Kenny

Derry City manager Stephen Kenny has spoken for the first time of the “dual contracts” scandal that has left his club in turmoil, saying he was unaware of any wrong-doings.

And he also expressed a desire to stay on with the Candystripes next season, even if the club is in the First Division.

“The club administered the contracts. That's completely out of my remit,” said Kenny.

When asked if he wanted to remain in charge, he said: “Certainly. I'll speak to the new board.

“I understand they are talking about a new board being formed but I'm manager of the club at the moment and haven't been told anything different,” the Brandywell boss added.
