McFall tells Linfield to forget about Braniff

Ronnie McFall has told Linfield to forget about any thoughts of signing Kevin Braniff.

The Blues are understood to have made the Northern Ireland international their number one transfer target this summer.

However, Ports boss McFall has defiantly stated: "he's going nowhere."

He added: "Why would clubs want to sell their best players? Kevin has three years on his contract to run and he will be rewarded with a testimonial as well. There is no chance of him leaving Portadown. Clubs have wanted to sign Kevin since we brought him here in 2006. He's going nowhere."

Linfield will turn their sights on Coleraine's Stephen Lowry but they will need to cough up a significant sum of money.

Meanwhile, the Ports have signed central defender Emmett Friars from Dungannon Swifts on a two-year deal.

"He adds expereince to our young defence," added McFall.
