Millar's plans for big Bang

Paul Millar leads his Bangor team into tonight's Carnegie League Cup final hoping that lightning will strike twice.

Loughgall provide the opposition at Mourneview Park (7.45pm) with the winners hoping that a hat-trick is on the cards.

Last season Institute lifted the League Cup before winning promotion to the Premier League and Crusaders did the same the previous year.

While a place in next season's invitational league may not be guaranteed, Millar still has his eyes on the championship.

Firstly though, comes tonight's final.

Last December he won his first trophy in management and this time he is looking for his maiden piece of silverware with the Seasiders.

Millar was sacked by Glentoran just a couple of weeks after failing to land one of the two bigger prizes at the end of last season, but he immediately got back onto the managerial horse at Clandeboye Park and wants to turn the efforts so far this season into something tangible.

"I am enjoying things at Bangor, the team has been playing well and we've only lost one game so far which is great," said Millar.

"It's a different scenario to Glentoran, but I still want to win things and when you get to a cup final you go all out to win it.

"Things have changed a lot since I won the CIS Cup with Glentoran a year ago, Bangor is my priority now though and the club wants to win things.

" Loughgall are a good team though, whoever comes down from the Premier League is always strong and I think they are getting better too."
