Newry City second string kicked out by IFA

Newry City Reserves have been suspended from football for refusing to supply the IFA Disciplinary Committee with information.

That means Saturday's scheduled league fixture with Linfield Swifts will be forfeited with the Swifts getting points and a 3-0 win.

The Reserves failed to respond to a referee's report and are therefore out of football until they meet their obligation.

They were given until March 28 to answer but failed to do so and were thus suspended from last Monday.

Larne Under-18s were in a similar position but asked for more time in view of administrative problems.

Their request was granted and they have until Friday to reply to a referee's report or they will be suspended from next Monday.

Meanwhile, the Mid-Ulster Juvenile League will face the Scottish Youth League at Mourneview Park on Saturday April 12 with a 3pm kick-off.

This is an annual fixture between the two leagues which has been on-going for the last 25 years.

Meanwhile, Lurgan's Hill Street will contest the IFA Coca-Cola Junior Cup final.

Hill Street beat Enniskillen Town Utd 2-1 at Mourneview Park on Tuesday night.

They will face Belfast side Immaculata who put paid to another Fermanagh & Western interest Lisbellaw United with a single goal victory.
