Only a win will do for Donegal Celtic

Pat McAllister will not be sending his Donegal Celtic players into this weekend’s CIS Cup tie with Cliftonville to admire and enjoy the occasion.

While the former Cliftonville player considers the two-legged showdown a “reward”, he is adamant that only progress will suffice in a game that always captures the imagination of both sets of supporters.

“We set out in the CIS Cup to get a tie with a Premier League side and we make no bones about wanting one of the Belfast big four,” said McAllister.

“It’s a reward for us because we have progressed this far in the competition.

“There’s a lot on nonsense talk about these games being a good marker to see how far we have come.

“At this moment in time we are a team and a club behind Cliftonville but we apply the same passion, believe and commitment to everything we do.”
