Portadown and Donegal Celtic prepare for first meeting

Portadown will be hoping to get their season back on track in the Championship’s game of the day tomorrow against Donegal Celtic at Shamrock Park.

The Ports suffered their second League defeat on Tuesday night when they came unstuck 1-0 against Loughgall at Lakeview Park, despite the return of stayaway striker Andy Smith.

The Ports lie third in the table, and will face a tough task against a strong DC outfit, a game which last season would have been a Premier League clash.

Paddy Kelly’s men have looked impressive since their ‘relegation’ from the top flight, but have only played two Championship fixtures because of cup commitments.

Elsewhere, leaders Coagh United, who have impressed with five wins in their opening six, travel to take on Gary McKinstry’s Armagh City who have recovered from a slow start and are beginning to find their feet.
