Setanta Cup return Fitz the bill for Dungannon

Dungannon Swifts captain Gary Fitzpatrick is relishing his side's Setanta Sports Cup campaign in the Spring.

And after Thursday's draw for the 2007 cross-border competition, the Stangmore Park skipper wants to ensure qualification for the 2008 event.

Having finished fourth two seasons in a row, the Swifts are currently sixth in the Premier League table, four points behind fifth-placed Portadown.

Getting back into the Setanta Cup seems a difficult task for the Swifts this time around, but Fitzpatrick isn't giving up hope as his team prepares to take on Larne this afternoon.

"We've got a taste for the Setanta Cup and are relishing being back in it next year," he said.

"We learnt a lot last season and will be much better prepared the second time.

"Being involved in it was brilliant for the club.

"We're not as far up the table this season as we have been before, but other teams have strengthened and they have seen how great the Setanta Cup is and want to be there themselves."
