Ross Arthurs - Ards
Ross Arthurs might not be a 30-goal-a-season striker, but his hard work and endeavour make him a handful for any centre back. Arthurs put in a good shift against Larne, whilst playing a key role in Ards' New Years Eve victory over their local rivals Bangor. Against Tobermore United the former Crusaders forward scored twice in a 4-1 win.
Chris Curran (right) - Ballinamallard United
Chris Curran is perhaps best known for playing for Manchester United's youth teams, both former Old Trafford starlet has been doing well for another title-challenging United. The Ballinamallard winger put in a sensational performance against Loughgall, scoring twice in a 4-1 win at Lakeview. Curran also played his part in his sides 2-1 win over Larne at Ferney Park.
Stephen Doyle - Loughgall
Stephen Doyle has cemented is place as one of the Championship's up and coming talents after an impressive December. The youngster, who is capable of playing either upfront or on the wing scored against Bangor at Clandeboye Park and hit a double in the Villagers 2-0 win over Banbridge Town.
Keith Johnston (right) - Warrenpoint Town
The Belfast Telegraph Championship One side have climbed the league table in the last two months and young striker Keith Johnston has been at the forefront of his teams progress. He hit a hat-trick in his sides 4-0 win over Limavady United.
Corey Wilson - Institute
Corey Wilson is a goalkeeper who may have a big future in front of him. While Institute may not have had the best of times in December the 18 year old keeper made sure they claimed a win over the Christmas period. His superb clean-sheet performance against Banbridge Town helped guide his side to a 1-0.

After a well-earned two-week Christmas break The Park's Championship pages are back and what better way to celebrate than by looking back on the month of December.

Ballinamallard United have managed to hold onto top spot in the division, while in-form Ards and Newry City are both looking to close ground on the leaders. All three sides completed the month unbeaten along with surprise package Warrenpoint Town who collected four points in December.
