Marco Verratti scored a sensational goal for PSG, but did it lack sportsmanship?
A great goal, but should it have stood?
Paris St-Germain’s 5-0 win over Bastia brought them level on points with Monaco (having played two more games than their rivals) but the game did not pass without controversy.
With the score 1-0 to PSG, Blaise Matuidi took a tumble and appeared injured. The Bastia goalkeeper went to check on Matuidi, but PSG continued to play, so he made his way back to his goal.
It was then that Marco Verratti smashed the ball into the net from distance – was it fair?

Should Verratti have kicked the ball out of play? In a way, he did.

This social media user felt that the goalkeeper should have been more focused.
@btsportfootball People saying it's unsporting but it's not PSGs fault the keeper was checking matuidi when he should have focused on what was happening— LintonJr (@Linton_Jr_Fifa) May 6, 2017
Meanwhile, some felt there were other matters of importance.
