Messi nets top 2015 moment on Twitter
Lionel Messi has hit the net in a big way once again. On top of all his on-field successes, Barcelona's Argentine has won another accolade, this time as the most tweeted sporting moment of 2015 in the UK.
Messi had already scored once in the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich when he left Jerome Boateng on his back and dinked the ball over Manuel Neuer.
The reaction to the goal came out number one in the Top 10 sporting moments that created the most reaction on Twitter.
Football dominated the Top 10, with just one other sport making the list - Tyson Fury beating Wladimir Klitschko to take his World heavyweight titles came in at number four.
Chelsea's Champions League defeat to Paris St Germain was at 10, ninth was Luis Suarez scoring for Barcelona against Manchester City and eight was Danny Welbeck's goal for Arsenal in their FA Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United - although Wayne Rooney's equaliser in the same game was fifth and the game itself came second.
Alexis Sanchez's FA Cup final strike was seventh, Jamie Vardy's record-breaking goal finished sixth and Steven Gerrard's red card against United was third.
