Northern Ireland U19 boss Steve Beaglehole pledged that his young side will learn lessons from their narrow Milk Cup Elite final defeat to Denmark last night at a packed Ballymena Showgrounds.

Danish midfield Mark Gundelach scored the only goal of the game after just 11 minutes and despite plenty of endeavour from Beaglehole's boys they couldn't conjure an equaliser after that early blow.

Beaglehole said: "Overall, I'm disappointed that we lost, but I'm delighted that we have got to the final and played against a technically very good Denmark side.

"We just needed one or two more to show more character in the final as we probably had the better chances but we'll take a lot away from this and we will learn from it."
