NI's Valparaiso friendly in doubt

The Irish Football Association is awaiting news on Northern Ireland's planned friendly in Chile after a forest fire in Valparaiso.

Michael O'Neill's side are due to play in the port city on June 4, though that is no longer a certainty after a forest fire hit the city and destroyed 500 homes.

President Michelle Bachelet has declared the area a disaster zone and ordered a military evacuation.

Press Association Sport understands the IFA is aware of developments but has yet to receive word from its Chilean counterparts.

The fixture itself is unlikely to be in doubt, with Santiago a likely alternative venue should the game need to be moved from Valparaiso.
