Rookie Coleraine goalkeeper Andy Findlay is netting new admirers
Coleraine 2 - Warrenpoint Tn 1
Coleraine has a proud history of producing top class goalkeepers - Harry Gregg, Jim Platt, Iam McFaul and Victor Hunter to name but a few.
Former Newcastle United and Northern Ireland international McFaul watched the Bannsiders' latest hope, Andy Findlay, produce another creditable performance on Saturday to ensure Oran Kearney's side earned a long overdue first home league win in four months.
Young striker Ian Parkhill bagged a brace ahead of Stephen Hughes' late consolation for Warrenpoint Town but it was the rookie keeper who caught the eye.
Nineteen-year-old Findlay still has a long way to go but former Magpies manager McFaul, who won six caps as understudy to the great Pat Jennings, nodded his approval after the new kid on the block produced a smashing second-half save from Darren Forsyth.
"It was one I would have been proud of and came at an important time in the game," said McFaul.
"It's the first time I've watched him and I was impressed. His handling under pressure was superb and I give credit to Oran for giving him his chance."
