Coleraine’s Swift response

By Stuart McKinley

Published 26/01/2010

Dungannon Swifts have turned down a request from Coleraine to take transfer-listed midfielder Neil McCafferty on loan.

Bannsiders boss Davis Platt is understood to have enquired about signing the former Charlton Athletic trainee until the end of the season, but his approach was met with a swift ‘no’ from the Stangmore Park club.

Twenty-five-year-old McCafferty still have 18 months of his contract with the Swifts to run, but asked to go onto the transfer list last week after the club refused to offer him improved terms.

The Swifts have yet to receive any approaches for their other transfer listed player defender Adam McMinn.
