Crusaders set to sign experienced defensive duo

By Graham Luney

Crusaders are expected to bolster their options with the signing of two established Irish League defenders.

The 28-year-old turned down a new contract offer at Glentoran and has attracted the interest of several Danske Bank Premiership sides.

Ballymena United, Warrenpoint Town and Ards are hoping to sign the centre-back but it is understood that Magee's desired destination is Seaview.

The east Belfast man joined his boyhood club in the summer of 2012 but he's now ready for a fresh challenge and the opportunity to win silverware at Crusaders is one he will relish.

Crues boss Stephen Baxter is also expected to sign former Linfield and Glentoran ace Sean Ward as he looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of a shot at regaining the Premiership title.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland Football League chiefs have stated that admission prices for adult tickets next season will rise by £1 to £11.
