Crues won't let title slip away: O'Neill

By Graham Luney

Sean O'Neill says Crusaders will hold their nerve as the Danske Bank Premiership title race reaches a thrilling climax.

The Crues could win a third consecutive title tomorrow if they win at Ballymena United and Coleraine defeat Linfield at the Showgrounds.

With only a point separating the rivals with two games remaining, Stephen Baxter's side also know that any stumble at the home of the Sky Blues could destroy their title hopes.

Keeper O'Neill admits it's now "a battle of nerves" but he's confident his troops can be crowned champions again.

"People were asking if we have the heart to win this title again," said O'Neill.

"We certainly know what we want as a club. We showed what we are about in midweek, it was a big result.

"We showed the character we have in this team. We showed the desire to get three points when perhaps the doubters were raising their heads. We know what to expect against any team managed by David Jeffrey, we know we'll be in for a tough game. They'll be well organised, but we know what we've got to do.

"This is too close to call. We can't afford to take our eye off the ball. Our focus is on all Ballymena - nothing else."
