Stephen Baxter fears Crusaders could taste title pain
Stephen Baxter has admitted for the first time this season that Crusaders may suffer Danske Bank Premiership title heartbreak - unless they get their act together quickly.
After watching his side crash to a 1-0 defeat to Linfield on Saturday, Baxter said it was the strongest looking Blues team he has seen in five years but it's the form of the league leaders that is giving him a bad headache.
David Healy's side have cut the champions' lead to one point with four games remaining and the Crues boss fears his boys might stumble at the finish line.
"If we don't get what we need and Linfield win it I'll be the first to ring David Healy and congratulate him on that title because he did that to me last year," said Baxter. "That is the cut and thrust of football at the very top of this game. We have charged at this for a long time and one or two injuries are catching up with us but we have to search deep within our souls to get over the line and we will try to do that."
