Danske Bank Premiership season 2015-2016 launched at Titanic Belfast as Irish League Football prepares to celebrate 125 years
This Saturday marks the beginning of the 125th season of Irish League Football, as the Danske Bank Premiership kicks off its new season.
From its humble beginnings in 1890, the Irish League is the second oldest national football league in the world.
The new campaign, players, managers and Chairmen from each of the 12 Danske Bank Premiership clubs gathered at Titanic Belfast to officially launch the season.
Gerard Lawlor, Chairman of the Premiership Management Committee, said: "The league continues to grow with every year, not just on the field, but also off it. On the field our clubs have achieved some fantastic results in European competitions and this year will see us celebrate the 125th year of Irish League Football.
"Looking towards the new season it is exciting that we have introduced end of season play-offs for the final Europa League spot. This will undoubtedly add more drama and excitement for supporters and players alike."
