David Healy: Northern Ireland's kids can learn from Craigan

Published 14/05/2010

The end of season Northern Ireland tour is a chance for all the youngsters in Nigel Worthington’s squad to show they have what it takes to cut it at international level.

I know a lot of the senior players aren’t going to America to face Turkey and South America to take on Chile — I’m injured myself — but the inclusion of Stephen Craigan, Warren Feeney and Gareth McAuley is a real boost for Nigel.

I would advise the uncapped boys and Irish League lads to listen and learn from those three, play well in the games and force themselves into the manager’s plans for the 2012 European Championships qualifiers. I would think Stephen will be captain. No better man for the job.
