David Healy: Torres is Liverpool’s ace card

Just when Liverpool - and Rafa Benitez - needed a mini-miracle most, step forward Fernando Torres.
What a striker this guy is. He has the lot. He scores great goals, gets his fair share of tap-ins and headers are no problem either.
For me, he is the best in the Premier League and Liverpool are very lucky to have him. People always talk about how vital Steven Gerrard is to the Anfield men and, while there is no doubting he is their driving force on many occasions, it was El Nino who dug them out of a hole last Sunday.
I didn’t give them a prayer against Manchester United but Liverpool took the game to them from the first whistle and got the victory they deserved.
Torres was immense. I’m a really big fan of Wayne Rooney but he was put into the shade by the best all-round front man in England.
Not for the first time, he gave Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand nightmares and it was his clinical finish which set the ball rolling.
If it wasn’t for his injury problems last season, I reckon Liverpool would have run United closer in the title race.
He really is that important to them.
And for the time being, he has eased what looked a heavy weight of pressure on his manager
