Europa League draw: Lech Poznan set for the Coleraine Showgrounds?

By Gareth Hanna

Coleraine could be set to take on Polish side Lech Poznan in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

Both the Bannsiders and Ballymena United are off to Norway in the first round as Coleraine will play FK Haugesund while Ballymena will take on ODDS BK.

Ballymena could then meet either Bala Town (WAL) or FC Vaduz (LIE) in round two and if Oran Kearney's Coleraine make it through their opener, Lech Poznan (Poland) or FK Pelister (MKD) await. That means these fans could be coming to Coleraine:

That draw meant both Coleraine and the Braidmen avoided what had looked a potential clash against Glasgow Rangers, who will instead take on Progres Niderkorn (Luxembourg) in the first round before facing either AEL Limassol (CYP) or St Joseph's FC (GIB).

Crusaders, meanwhile, will take on FK Liepaja from Latvia in round one with the winners playing Shakhtyor Soligorsk (BLR) or FC Suduva (LTU)

Coleraine and Ballymena will both play their first round first legs away from home on June 29 and will host their Norwegian opponents on July 6. Crusaders will be at home on June 29 and away a week later.

The second round ties will be played on July 13 and July 20.

League of Ireland side Derry City will face FC Midtjylland (Denmark), who beat Manchester United last year, in round one. Ferencvarosi TC (HUN) or FK Jelgava (LVA) await the winners while Shamrock Rovers take on Stjarnan (Iceland) and then FK Mlada Boleslav from the Czech Republic. Cork City come up against Levadia Tallinn (Estonia) then AEK Larna (Cyprus) or Lincoln FC (Gibraltar). Tommy Wright's St Johnstone will take on FK Trakai (Lithuania), then either IFK Norrkoping (Swe) or FC Prishtina (Kos) in round two.
