Ferguson lends his name to Carryduff kids

The George Best Carryduff Manchester United Supporters’ Club have received a massive boost from Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of the new Premier League season.

TheCarryduff club are excited to announce that they will be launching a new branch, especially for young Red Devils in association with the great Scot.

Their new junior division, designed for fans aged under 16, will be known as The Sir Alex Ferguson Carryduff Junior Reds in honour of the Old Trafford side’s legendary manager.

Branch Secretary John White said: “We are deeply honoured that Sir Alex gave us his permission to name this new and innovative Branch in his honour.

“It is no more than the greatest manager in the world deserves.

“We are also most grateful to Manchester United who kindly gave us permission to use the Fred the Logo, a character all young Manchester United fans will know well.”

The club are calling for Manchester United supporters of all ages to attend a Branch Invitational Evening in The Ivanhoe Hotel, Carryduff on Tuesday, July 26 at 7pm.

Fans will be given the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the Premier League trophy and to sign up as members for next season.

MUTV will also be in attendance as they interview fans for an upcoming DVD on United’s greatest ever players. Membership costs £40 and gives fans the opportunity to purchase trips to see their heroes in action.

The club, who meet every Tuesday at The Ivanhoe, have 60 Old Trafford season tickets and are represented at every United home game during the season. For a fee of £170, members receive their match ticket as well as travel and two nights in a four star hotel.

Membership for the Junior club will be free while the youngsters will see the cost of their match package reduced to £130.

Those who wish to join but cannot attend the Branch invitational can download an application from and return it during any meeting.
