Hamilton delight as Tuffey and Marron extend Glenavon deals
Glenavon have continued their rebuilding plans by handing new contracts to two players.
Caolan Marron has signed a two year extension to his contract that takes him to the end of the 2018-19 season while goalkeeper Johnny Tuffey has signed a four year extension with the option of a fifth year.
Tuffey said on Twitter: "Thank you Glenavon for my new contract, I'm really looking forward to the next five years and helping the club progress.
"Also a massive thank you to my family for their continued support - hope you can cope for another five years."
Lurgan Blues boss Gary Hamilton is thrilled with the news which will keep his rearguard in good shape.
"I'm obviously delighted to secure the services of such an excellent young defender in Caolan and the experience of Johnny will continue to be the foundation of our defence for years to come," said Hamilton.
The Mourneview Park men take their fight to remain in the top six of the Premiership to Glentoran this weekend.
Gary Haveron's side can move to within three points of the Lurgan side with a victory. The sides drew 2-2 at The Oval in the league back in September.
Meanwhile, Glenavon's Irish Cup quarter-final against Portadown on Saturday, March 4 will be ticket only.
