Just a few hours after landing the sensational signing of former Rangers favourite Nacho Novo, Glentoran boss Alan Kernahan has bolstered his squad further.

The Oval chief has signed former Drogheda United midfielder Eric Foley on a two-year deal.

The Dubliner has been capped at U-16 and U-17 level for the Republic of Ireland but he has optedt to move to the Danske Bank Premiership to give his career a "kick-start".

"The southern league is not as strong as it used to be and hopefully I can play my best football at Glentoran and help score goals and create chances," he said.

Foley also played for Sporting Fingal and Galway United.

Kernaghan said: "He can dictate the pace and flow of a game with the great range of passing."

Meanwhile, Ballinamallard United have strengthened their squad for the campaign as well.

Goalkeeper James McGrath returns to the club from Glenavon, with defender Ryan McConnell and striker Liam Flatley both joining from Finn Harps, along with Sligo Rovers defender Ryan Taheny.
