Glentoran's star signing Nacho Novo has responded to comments made over the weekend about his weight following his debut in the Irish league.

The 37-year-old former Rangers striker made his debut at The Oval from the bench, replacing Jonathan Smith after 67 minutes.

Speaking afterwards, Spanish-born Novo said he was delighted with the welcome he had received at the east Belfast club and was pleased they had got off to a winning start by getting three points with a Ciaran Caldwell late goal.

However, some fans were quick to point out that the new Glens man may not be in the best shape for the new season.

Something Novo took to Twitter to dismiss on Monday lunchtime.
