Haveron joy as Glens boost top-six hopes
Glentoran boss Gary Haveron was thrilled with his men after a 3-1 win at Ards last night bolstered the club's hopes of climbing into the top six of the Danske Bank Premiership before the league split.
The Glens are now three points adrift of sixth-placed Glenavon and one point behind Dungannon Swifts with another seven battles for the east Belfast side to go before the top six and bottom six separate.
A Stephen O'Flynn double and Curtis Allen strike sunk Ards with Kevin Bradley's effort proving a consolation.
Haveron said: "I'm delighted with the win and the performance. Ards put us under some pressure in the second half but I felt that our defence dealt with it really well.
"Elliott Morris didn't have a save to make in the second half.
"We deserved the win due to our excellent start to the game."
