New Glentoran star Nacho Novo believes his former club Rangers can win the Scottish Premiership in their first season back in the top-flight.

Celtic are favourites to clinch the title, but ahead of the new campaign which kicks off tomorrow when the Ibrox men host Hamilton, Novo has tipped his old team to finish top.

"Rangers have had difficult years but they are in the top league again and I believe they have a good chance to win the title," said Novo.

"Obviously it is going to be difficult and people will talk only about Rangers and Celtic but Aberdeen are getting better all the time and could have a say too.

"It will be a new challenge for Rangers but I believe they can win the league."

On new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, who is one tie away from taking the Hoops to the Champions League group stages, Novo said: "He will do well there but needs time to build his own team."
