Elliott Morris says Glentoran fans - and the rest of the Danske Bank Premiership - should expect fireworks from Nacho Novo.

Novo's arrival at The Oval is one of the biggest transfer deals in Irish League history and Glens fans are snapping up shirts with the Spaniard's name on the back.

The former Rangers star will be included in the squad for Saturday's league opener at home to Dungannon Swifts and keeper Morris can't wait to see the 37-year-old terrorise defences.

"There's going to be a lot of expectation around his signing but if he brings half of the quality he showed at Rangers, we can expect fireworks," said Morris, who has made 614 appearances for the Glens. "There's a real buzz around the club and certainly a lot more interest in terms of shirt sales.

"The fans want a shirt with Novo on the back. He spoke to the boys and explained that he wanted to be part of the team and help us achieve success."
