Linfield and Crusaders BOTH announce signing of Josh Robinson

By Gareth Hanna

Linfield and Crusaders have both announced the signature of Josh Robinson.

In a somewhat confusing development, both clubs have released statements confirming the former York City man is joining their ranks.

Linfield were first to tweet the news at 10.33pm on Thursday and Crusaders duly followed at 11.32pm.

Linfield boss David Healy was even quoted on the club website confirming Robinson's three-year contract.

"Josh is coming home from York City and his addition will add real quality to our squad," said Healy.

"I know our supporters will give Josh a warm welcome to the club and I am looking forward to working with him, as we continue our preparations for the competitive season which got off to a winning start last night."

And over on the Crusaders website, he was announced to have signed a four year contract to return to his former club.

Treasurer Tommy Whiteside is quoted as saying: "It was very easy to deal with Josh. He was happy to come to my home on 9th June and quickly agreed terms and duely (sic) signed a pre contract dated 29/6/17. Its great to have Josh back in the fold."

Crusaders also say on their release that "all necessary documention (sic) has been lodged with the Irish Football Association."

And the BBC have reported that Robinson is understood to have trained with the Crues on Tuesday.

The IFA is now expected to determine which of the two clubs Robinson is actually registered with.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter has erupted:
