David Healy thrilled as Blues seal Roy Carroll deal
Linfield manager David Healy has pulled off his first summer signing and his biggest to date as Windsor Park boss.
Healy has snapped up Northern Ireland goalkeeper Roy Carroll on a one-year contract after he left Notts County, just weeks before he will be part of Michael O'Neill's squad at Euro 2016.
The Belfast Telegraph revealed as far back as last November - just a month after Healy took charge at Linfield - that the Blues were interested in bringing 38-year-old Carroll home and he will jump straight into action with his new club once his international commitments in France are completed.
"I'm delighted to be able to advise our supporters that Roy Carroll has signed a one-year deal as a player to take effect from June 1," said Healy.
"He's obviously a player I know very well and he will bring with him considerable experience which will be of enormous benefit to the goalkeepers in our squad and indeed our entire squad."
