Healy rallies Blues ahead of derby duel
David Healy says his Linfield players will need to produce a huge performance on Monday to kill off Glentoran and keep their Danske Bank Premiership title hopes alive.
The Blues are five points behind league leaders Crusaders, who visit Cliftonville on Boxing Day, and Northern Ireland legend Healy accepts any slip-up from his men could prove fatal.
Glentoran would love to give Linfield a festive headache at Windsor Park and the former Leeds United and Preston frontman will demand his troops stand up to the challenge.
"I enjoy Christmas but, in the back of my mind, I know what Boxing Day means," said Healy.
"I know what it means to the supporters. Going back to last year, I was desperate for a result in my first Big Two Boxing Day game and it's no different this time. It will be tough and we'll need to to show the same character we showed against Ballymena United last week."
