Lisburn Distillery 0 Dungannon Swts 0

Lisburn Distillery got their first all important point of the season after holding league-leaders Dungannon Swifts to a goalless draw.

Swifts exerted the early pressure; Shane Coney spurned a good chance early on, running the ball out of play when going for goal.

Adam McMinn then headed over before a super save from Paul Murphy denied Timmy Adamson on eight minutes. A long free kick drifted in behind the defence, Adamson shot from a few yards out but Murphy made an instinctive pushover.

The Whites though showed a resolve that had been missing so far this season and gradually made it an even contest before the Swifts had a goal disallowed on 29 minutes.

Murphy saved well from Marc McCann and whilst Terry Fitzpatrick dived to head home he was offside.

The second-half was an open affair, the home side producing some decent football but David McAlinden was there on 62 minutes to head clear as McMinn waited to pounce for the visitors. Swifts looked dangerous around the edge of the box but the home defence held firm.

Adamson threatened a couple of times but for the first time this season Jimmy Brown's side did not concede a goal and will take confidence from the result.
