McCann back to lift Lisburn Distillery

Paul Kirk will take a calculated risk when he sends out his Lisburn Distillery side to take on Glenavon today.

The Whites boss branded his team’s second-half performance against the Lurgan Blues on Tuesday as ‘excellent’ as they fought back from a goal down to claim a draw in the first-leg of their Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final.

Now, as the teams prepare to do battle in the league at Ballyskeagh, Kirk is to change his line-up, with Ryan McCann ready to come straight back in after suspension.

“I thought they were better than us in the first-half and we came out in the second-half and were excellent,” said Kirk.

“It’s never ideal playing teams back-to-back in such quick succession as this, but that’s the way it is and we have to get on with it.

“This is a game we have to look to win and with Ryan McCann available again after suspension he gives us something different.”
