Oran's cup target
Oran Kearney is hoping that lightning will strike twice tonight and land him his first trophy in management.
His last medal as a player came when Linfield beat Coleraine in the 2008 Irish Cup final and the Bannsiders now stand between his Limavady United side and the North-West Senior Cup.
“We played against Coleraine Crusaders in the Craig Memorial Cup on Saturday when they were underdogs and now it’s our turn,” said Kearney.
“Now we’re in that position and we’ll go to Coleraine with no pressure on us and nothing to lose. It’s a nice position to be in and although we are underdogs someone has to win it and hopefully it will be us.”
And Kearney is hoping that a win at the Coleraine Showgrounds will be the first leg of a double celebration this week.
On Friday night, his school hurling team at Cross and Passion College, Ballycastle, will contest the Mageen Cup final against St Mary’s, Belfast at Casement Park.
Seaview will host both Paddy Power Steel & Sons Cup semi-finals next month.
Holders Ards were last night drawn against Downpatrick Rec on Wednesday November 25, seven days after H & W Welders meet Kilmore Rec in the first semi-final.
Semi-final draw: Kilmore Rec v H & W Welders, Downpatrick Rec v Ards.
