Robinson is ready for Celtic fight
Former Linfield goalkeeper Robert Robinson will return to the Irish Premiership next season after signing for Donegal Celtic.
The Belfast man, who won countless honours with the Blues, thought his Irish League career had ended when he was forced to quit Glenavon almost two years ago due to an ankle injury.
The 36-year-old believes he is “ready and prepared” for his surprising return to the senior ranks following boss Paddy Kelly’s decision to axe former number one Declan Brown.
“I may be 36 and I may be a little slower but I have experience that money cannot buy and I hope that will benefit Donegal Celtic,” he said.
“With signings like Declan O’Hara, Jonny Harkness and Kevin Keegan and myself, there will be a new level of experience that the club hasn’t had in the Premier League before.
“I got the impression from Paddy Kelly that he is fed up with the dog-fight and is determined to see this team and club become a mainstay at the top.”
