Stute out of the blocks after win
Institute 2 Coleraine 1
Institute secured their first victory of the season following an exciting encounter with north-west neighbours Coleraine.
Goals from Neil Harkin and David Ogilvy gave Stute a deserved 2-0 lead, however, Richard Gibson's strike made it a nervous last 10 minutes for the home side.
Coleraine started brightly and went close in the 12th minute when Stephen Carson was unlucky not to break the deadlock.
He saw his left-footed drive from 20 yards superbly tipped over by a full-stretched Michael Doherty.
After that Carson effort the home side started to come more into the game and took the lead just before the half-hour mark following a flowing move.
John O'Loughlin played in a tremendous cross to the back post where recent signing Neil Harkin was totally unmarked and he volleyed home past the hapless Davy O'Hare, much to the delight of the Institute supporters.
The Bannsiders were rightfully reduced to 10 men minutes before the half-time break as striker Jody Tolan was cautioned twice in the space of just two minutes by referee Dessie Loughrey.
The home side doubled their advantage in the 48th minute when the returning David Ogilvy blasted home a free kick from the edge of the area.
In an exciting second half where both sides created chances it was the visitors who pulled one back 10 minutes from time.
Substitute Richard Gibson made no mistake firing low into Doherty's bottom left-hand corner after cleverly swivelling inside the area.
\[Michael McCready\]In the nervy last 10 minutes for Institute it was them who went close to increasing their lead on the counterattack.
Twice striker Calvin Mooney had two super chances the first a long range effort saved by O'Hare. Then in injury time he should have done better when one on one with the Coleraine keeper but he fired wide.
