It wasn't that long ago that Limavady were fighting against relegation, but a late season run has seen them climb the table and secure a top half finish. Cathair Friel has been one of the Roesiders most influential players in April, helping David Platt's men secure wins over Banbridge Town, Glebe Rangers and Ards.

The pacey attacker has become one of the better players in the division at the age of just 18.

Darragh Hanaphy - Newry City
You'll not find a more inform striker than Newry City forward Darragh Hanaphy. Hanaphy found the net against Loughgall as well as hitting a brace against both Dergview and Tobermore United. This week Newry will compete in a two legged play-off tie, as they attempt to secure a spot in next season's Carling Premiership. They will need in-form Hanaphy firing on all cylinders if they are to overhaul their top flight opponents.
Paddy McLaughlin (right) - Institute
Paddy McLaughlin may not get to play in next week's Intermediate Cup final, after Institute were expelled from the competition, but the veteran centre-half can take comfort from the fact he not only made the Championship team of the season, but that he is also up for April's player of the month award. McLaughlin turned in composed displays against Loughgall, Tobermore United and Dergview, in an in-form Institute side.
George Young (left) - Larne
Larne haven't had a good time of it since Christmas. They lost the Steel & Sons Cup final, they lost their league and they lost their manager Paul Millar. However the club did manage to hang on to their Championship 1 status after an impressive 1-0 win away to Dergview, thanks to a penalty from Arron Lemon. One of Larne's bright sparks in the last month has been George Young, who was brought in from Ballymena United during the summer.
Dean Youle (left) - Bangor
The former Ballymena United defender has been a rock at the back for Bangor this season and was rewarded with a place in The Park's Championship team of the season. He has been highly impressive in recent weeks with the Seasiders on a decent run of form, which has helped secure them a top five finish. Youle played a crucial role in Bangor's wins over Warrenpoint Town, Dergview and Harland & Wolff Welders.

So, we've finally reached the end of the season, which means it is time for April's Belfast Telegraph Fans' Championship Player of the Month vote.

While promotion and relegation was tied up early on in the Championship 1, there has still been plenty to play for with players fighting for new contracts and manager's looking to climb the table. The poll is now closed

In next week's edition of The Park - inside the Belfast Telegraph on Monday 7 May - find out who won the April Fans Player of the Month Award and which players are up for the Belfast Telegraph Championship 1 Fans Player of the Season Award.
