Down Area Winter Football League round-up November 30

In the DAWFL Premier Division, Moat Park Rangers rebounded from their first defeat last weekend with a 10-1 home win over Comber Star.

However, Brentwood remain hot on their heels in second place, thanks to a 7-0 win at home against Castlereagh Colts.

Defending league champions Greenwell Star won 4-1 away to Willowfield Parish. Greenwell, currently in third place, have three games in hand and these could prove vital in their challenge.

Clandeboye YM, in last place, lost 6-2 at home against Oakfield Breda. The defeat extends Clandeboye's losing streak to 15 games.

Corrymeela, keeping Clandeboye company in the bottom two, won 3-2 at home over Vision Athletic, their second win of the season.

Comber YM won 3-1 at home over the 8th OB, back-to-back in the middle of the table.

3rd Bangor lost at home 3-0 to Ravenhill YM, who have been elbowed out of the top three but sit threateningly in fourth place.

In 1A, North Down remain comfortable in the top spot thanks to a 6-0 home win over Stranmillis 37th OB.

Second-placed Bangor Swifts III stalled their bid to catch North Down, managing only a 2-2 draw at home against Bangor Rangers III. Comber Rec III, in third place, won 2-1 away to Ards Rangers III.

The 82nd, in bottom spot and having not won previously in this campaign, lost 4-1 at home against Bryansburn Rangers III.

Queen’s Grads III, in danger of falling into the bottom two, also lost at home, 4-2 to Ballygowan. Ballywalter Rec III won 5-3 away over the 43rd OB. Abbey Villa III won 5-2 at home over Newtown Forest. Agape and Bangor YM III drew 3-3.
