Fermanagh & Western League round-up
The game of the day in Division 1 saw defending league champions Enniskillen Town United play host to early pace-setters Beragh Swifts.
It was the home side who came out on top to maintain their perfect start to the season, with Stevie Chambers scoring twice and Gary Lynch also finding the net.
Former champions Lisbellaw United had made an indifferent start to their campaign but everything fell into place for them on Saturday afternoon, when they had a resounding 7-0 victory away to Omagh-based Shelbourne. Paul Barron led the way in the scoring stakes for United with four goals while Ian Veitch, Ryan O’Keefe and Andrew Thompson got their names on the scoresheet as well.
Ryan Cunningham and Gary McHugh got a goal each as Tummery Athletic won 2-1 at Lisnaskea Rovers.
Strathroy Harps were 3-0 winners at home to Enniskillen Rangers, while Scott Sproule scored twice with Graham Young getting one as Killen Rangers won 3-2 at Fintona Swifts. Mark Welsh and Gerry Quinn scored the goals for the Tyrone-based side.
In Division 2, newly promoted NFC Kesh continued their good start to the season with a 3-1 win at home to Derrychara United, with Mark Jones and Walker among the goals. Damien Keenan was on target for the visitors.
Strule United beat Drumquin United 4-0 with the help of goals from Paul McCabe, Kuba, Lee Brown and Thomas Flanagan. Sion Mills Rec beat Spamount Swifts 3-2, while Lisnarick also won 3-2 at Irvinestown Wanderers. Byron McNern and Chris Lyons scored for the Wanderers, with Kevin McAuley, Kyle Barkley and Peter Law on target for Lisnarick.
In Division 3, Paddy Northern got the only goal of the game as they beat Orchard Farm 1-0, while Magheraveely defeated Enniskillen Athletic 3-2 away from home.
Omagh Hospitals were 4-1 winners at home to Mountjoy United Reserves, while Ardstraw Reserves beat Fivemiletown United II 6-4 in a superb contest.
That game though wasn’t the biggest scoreline of the day, as Erne Rovers won an unbelievable contest away to Augher Stars 9-5.
Martin Doherty hit a hat-trick, Alan Gregg and Ronan Cox got a brace each with Jason Love and Richard Love also on target for Rovers.
Fergal McKenna hit a hat-trick for Augher with Adam Millar and Mark Davidson also finding the net.
