Ward is injury concern

Glentoran's injury problems are mounting up after in-form defender Sean Ward joined Gary Hamilton on the sidelines.

The former Northern Ireland under 21 international landed awkwardly on his ankle and was helped off after only 11 minutes of last night's 1-0 CIS Insurance Cup quarter-final win over Dungannon Swifts at the Oval.

Glens boss Alan McDonald will now wait for the swelling to subside before finding out how long Ward will be out for.

"Sean twisted his ankle which was very unfortunate for him and for us," said McDonald.

"It was just innocuous and it sometimes happens. It's just unfortunate that it has happened twice to us in the last two games with Gary having come off on Saturday.

"We'll wait and see how things go for Sean but he has been terrific for us this season so hopefully he isn't out for too long."
