Young stars shine as sides celebrate after cup and plate NIBFA triumphs

The NIBFA Subway National League Cup and Plate Finals kicked off at The Mid Ulster Sports Arena on Friday night. In the opening fixture Cookstown Youth defeated Portadown Youth 2-1 to clinch the U12 Cup title.

The U17 Plate Final saw Portadown Youth play Dungannon Swifts with the Ports winning 4-1.

In the last of Fridays game's Glendowan defeated Linfield U17's 3-2 to lift the cup in a pulsating game.

A busy Saturday started with Lisburn Rangers snatching victory by scoring a late winner as they defeated Derry Colts 2-1 to win the U14 Plate. Meanwhile in the U14 Cup, Portadown Youth came from behind to beat Dungannon Youth 2-1.

Next up in the U13 Final, Linfield had to come from behind to defeat Ridgway Rovers 2-1.

Under-13 Cup: Linfield 2 Ridgeway Rovers 1. Under-13 Plate: Glentoran Academy 1 Greenisland 2 (After extra-time). Under-14 Cup: Dungannon Youth 1 Portadown Youth 2. Under-14 Plate: Derry Colts 1 2 Lisburn Rangers 2. Under-15 Cup: Ridgeway Rovers 21 Crusaders 1 (After extra-time). Under-15 Plate: Ballinamallard United 2 Linfield 1. Under-16 Cup: Ridgeway Rovers 3 Maiden City 0. Under-17 Cup: Glendowan 3 Linfield 2. Under-17 Plate: Portadown Youth 4 Dungannon Swifts 1.
