Advocaat ready for Arshavin exit

Russia playmaker Andrei Arshavin is continuing to edge closer to a move to Arsenal, according to Zenit St Petersburg coach Dick Advocaat.

Arshavin’s representatives were remaining tight-lipped on a move to the Emirates Stadium but Advocaat believes his player could move soon.

"Negotiations with Arsenal continue and the chances are very high that Arshavin will soon play in the English Premier League," the Dutchman said last night.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, insists he has no concerns over AC Milan trying to target Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie if they sell Kaka to Manchester City.

"No, I’m not worried about that at all," was Wenger’s response.

But deposed Arsenal skipper William Gallas has suggested he will run down his current contract with the club.

Gallas said: "There is no tension. I play. I give the maximum for the club.

"I am concentrating on my future, finishing my contract with Arsenal and seeing where I’ll go in two years."

Tomas Rosicky, who has been out for almost a year with a knee injury, admits being sidelined for a long period means he has to build up his confidence again.

"Everyone surely knows that I am not in my ideal state of mind, the one I used to be in when I was in Arsenal's starting line-up two or three times a week," he said.

"Now I am playing a different game. I have been working hard every single day and want to be back soon. I need to be patient."
