The Wenger boys are gunning for the title
Arsene Wenger has insisted Arsenal's vital 2-1 home victory over Manchester City will give his side a major confidence boost in the race for the title.
The Gunners moved two points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City last night thanks to first half goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud, whose strike proved decisive after a stunning late effort from Yaya Toure set up a frantic finale.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini said that his team were the better side, but they would have been fortunate to have left the Emirates with a point on a night when Arsenal made a statement of intent about their title chances.
Wenger's men are now four points clear of third placed City and, in the craziest season for years, will fancy their chances of a first title triumph since 2004.
"We have shown our talents of spirit, organisation and brilliance," said a jubilant Wenger.
"We are up there and this win will give us confidence. Our belief is strong.
