Baptista not set for Spurs, says agent

The agent of Julio Baptista has brushed aside reports linking his client with a move to Tottenham in the winter transfer window.

According to reports in Italy, Roma are keen on Spurs' wantaway striker Roman Pavlyuchenko and are ready to offer former Arsenal man Baptista in return for the Russian.

But Herminio Menendez said yesterday: “There is no truth in these reports claiming he is set for an exchange in January.

“Julio is currently away with the national side.

“Any possible discussion is postponed until the future.”
