Canaries shot down by Charlton

Norwich 0 Charlton Athletic 1

Charlton claimed their first win in 19 games to secure an FA Cup fourth-round date at Sheffield United - and pile more pressure on Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder.

On-loan Ipswich midfielder Darren Ambrose netted the only goal - his first since March - as the Addicks won for the first time on their travels since mid-September.

The Addicks, who last tasted success against Norwich's East Anglian rivals Ipswich on October 4, needed just six minutes to take the lead.

They almost opened the scoring moments earlier when Deon Burton's 25-yard volley was kept out by City goalkeeper David Marshall - but Ambrose made no mistake from 12 yards.
