Carlos Tevez: I have permission to quit Manchester City
Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez claims club owner Sheikh Mansour has told him he can leave Eastlands if he wants to - and says he never plans to return to the area after his contract expires in 2014.
Tevez, who was offered a new deal last month after City's FA Cup final success, said: "Sheikh Mansour has made a lot of sacrifices to keep me and if I stay at City, it will be for him.
"He has told me, 'If you want to leave, then you can go'. There is no deadline, it's down to me."
Tevez has no great affinity with Manchester despite having spent nearly four years in the city, first with a two-year spell at United from 2007.
"When I finish my contract I will not return to Manchester ever - not even on holiday," he said.
