Celtic agree loan deal for Manchester City teenager Patrick Roberts

Celtic have agreed a deal with Manchester City to secure Patrick Roberts on an 18-month loan deal, Press Association Sport understands.

The 18-year-old winger is expected to undergo a medical with the Hoops on Saturday.

Roberts signed for City from Sky Bet Championship side Fulham last summer for a fee reported to be in the region of £12million.

The England Under-19 international has made three substitute appearances for the Barclays Premier League club this season.

He would be the fourth player to join Celtic from City during Ronny Deila's tenure as Hoops boss following Jason Denayer and John Guidetti, who both had loan spells at the club, and Dedryck Boyata, who signed on a four-year-deal last summer.

Celtic play fellow Ladbrokes Premiership side Ross County in the League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on Sunday.
