Chimbonda makes Allardyce Blackburn promise

New Blackburn defender Pascal Chimbonda is determined to repay manager Sam Allardyce for the faith he has shown in him.

The Frenchman has signed a two-year contract and could make his debut against West Ham today.

“The manager really wanted me to come here, he made a big effort and I want to repay him by giving 100% every game,” he said.

“I want to play football, I want to enjoy being on the pitch again as these past six months at Tottenham have been hard for me.

“Now I want to rediscover my pleasure of playing football again.

“When you aren't playing it is hard, but I think I've found a good club to play my football and I hope to enjoy it to the maximum.”
