Clough relishes return to Nottingham Forest

Nigel Clough insists there will be no sentiment tonight when he takes his Derby side to local rivals Nottingham Forest for their FA Cup fourth-round replay.

The former Forest forward, who also supported the club as a youngster, made 311 appearances for the red half of Nottingham during almost a decade at the club.

His legendary father, Brian, also managed both clubs during his illustrious career.

He said: "Of course it is always nice, in some ways, to go back. Although it won’t be very nice if we lose.

"I have fond memories of Nottingham Forest but they are a million miles away, they really are. They seem a lifetime away and they are confined to the past now.

"It is a special place to me having been a supporter for nine or 10 years and then playing for the club for the same amount of time."
